Since 1988, Ron Harris and his team have served in an advisory role in the disposition and acquisition of multifamily properties in Southern California. The crux of the team's focus has been on mid-large size assets (100+ units) throughout Los Angeles County. Evolving through the lender-dominated marketplace of the 1990s, in which Ron personally listed and sold 200 multifamily properties on behalf of financial institutions, the team currently concentrates both on institutional and private party transactions. Having closed over $10 billion in multifamily sales in his career, Ron and his team have represented many of the REITs, pension funds, developers, and major private parties who are active in the multifamily investment market in Southern California.

Michael Markelz

Michael Markelz joined The Ron Harris Group at Institutional Property Advisors (IPA) in the summer of 2013. Since that time he has focused on the analysis, research, and marketing of apartment transactions in Southern California. Prior to joining Institutional Property Advisors, Mr. Markelz was an asset manager with JRK Property Holdings, an apartment owner and operator based in Los Angeles that manages 42,000 units nationwide. At JRK Property Holdings, Mr. Markelz oversaw a portfolio of market rate and tax credit multifamily units and gained extensive experience in all aspects of asset management including: the acquisition and disposition of properties, revenue and expense optimization, multimillion-dollar renovation programs, accounting and reporting, on-site operations, human resources, and employee training. Prior to working with JRK, Mr. Markelz worked for Gerson Lehrman Group, a primary research firm based in New York, where he was focused on business development and account management.

Mr. Markelz graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Economics.

Kelly Fullenkamp

Kelly Fullenkamp is responsible for the design and production of marketing materials, property presentations, and proposals for the Ron Harris Group. She also conducts market research and tracks buyer activity.  Before joining the Ron Harris Group in the summer of 2014, Kelly assisted a commercial land broker in Indianapolis at Site Strategies Advisory, a company specializing in site selection and disposition for real estate users, developers, and property owners.

Mrs. Fullenkamp is an active member of the Urban Land Institute. She is a graduate of Ball State University with a Master of Urban Design and a Bachelor of Urban Planning and Development.

Vanessa Ortiz joined the Ron Harris Group in the summer of 2013. She is primarily responsible for providing high-level administrative support including drafting contracts, facilitating offers and closings, conducting market research, and handling information requests.  In addition, Mrs. Ortiz prepares marketing materials, proposals, and tracks buyer activity.
