Peter Von Der Ahe possesses more than 13 years of commercial real estate experience, specializing in multifamily property sales, with a focus on New York City. Since 2002, Mr. Von Der Ahe has closed more than $1 billion in multifamily transactions for both institutional and private sellers.

Mr. Von Der Ahe has been recognized as a Commercial Broker All-Star for the past five years by Real Estate New York magazine, he has been consistently ranked among the Top 10 most active brokers in New York City for multifamily properties.

With Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Von Der Ahe has earned eight National Achievement Awards and ten Sales Recognition Awards, and he has received the firm’s exclusive Chairman’s Club Award the past three years. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Von Der Ahe drew on his institutional underwriting background in his work with the New York City office of Arthur Andersen’s Real Estate Consulting Group.

Mr. Von Der Ahe is also an author, and his book, Family Secrets: Secret Strategies to New York City Multifamily Investing, discusses tactics for successful investing in Manhattan multifamily. Additionally, his expertise is widely valued throughout the New York multifamily market, and his commentary can frequently be found in The New York Times, Crain’s New York, The New York Post, The Commercial Observer, Real Estate Weekly, Globe Street, and many other industry publications.

Joe Koicim is a top-producing multifamily and mixed-use broker in the Manhattan Marcus & Millichap office. Mr. Koicim focuses on bringing new capital and investment into both established and emerging New York markets. Mr. Koicim and his team have set many sales records for multifamily assets in Manhattan and across the boroughs. Private investors, institutional funds, foreign entities, and nonprofit organizations consistently seek Joe out to provide them access to the correct buying or selling opportunity.

Mr. Koicim joined Marcus & Millichap in 2004 and was responsible for the sale of over ten transactions within his first fifteen months with the firm. He earned the "Rookie of the Year" award in his first year as an agent, and in 2008, he was recognized by Real Estate New York magazine as one of the top thirty commercial real estate professionals under the age of thirty. He qualified for Marcus & Millichap's National Achievement Award in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and was recently named a top investment sales broker by Real Estate Forum magazine.

Mr. Koicim has been quoted and featured in many trade journals and was featured on The Stoler Report: Real Estate Trends for his insight on Manhattan's real estate investment sales market.

Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, he worked at Morgan Stanley and Smith Barney and successfully launched a digital technology venture.

Shaun Riney

Shaun Riney is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson for Institutional Property Advisors, a division of Marcus & Millichap.  Mr. Riney has consistently been recognized as one of New York City's elite investment advisors and is primarily responsible for investment sales advisory and transaction services to multi-housing, mixed-use, and retail operators across all neighborhoods of Northern Brooklyn and Queens. Mr. Riney focuses on business development, advisory services, and start-to-finish deal execution of the team's assignments.

Seth Glasser works on institutional and private market multifamily investment properties throughout New York City. He also has significant experience in the New York City housing regulation systems, including HAP Contracts, Regulatory Agreements, Tax Credits, and SRO’s.

Sara Carlton

Sara Carlton is a marketing coordinator for Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), joining in 2012. Ms. Carlton is responsible for the production of marketing materials and works with the team. Previously, Ms. Carlton worked for International Paper’s distribution company, Bulkley Dunton, as director of marketing and client relations and at The Otis Elevator Company in the sales and marketing department.

Ms. Carlton graduated from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing.

Lisa Young is Peter Von Der Ahe’s executive administrator, joining Institutional Property Advisors (IPA) in April 2013. Before working for Peter, she worked as an executive assistant to the president and CEO of a mid-sized public relations firm. Prior to that, for over 20 years, she worked for the president of a top New York City Public Relations firm, serving as executive assistant, office manager and bookkeeper. Her work was rewarded by appointing her a shareholder in the company.
