NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 20, 2017 – Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap specializing in serving institutional and major private real estate investors, has hired Tyler Martin, a highly seasoned multifamily investment sales professional, according to Alan L. Pontius, senior vice president and national director, specialty divisions.

Martin will be an IPA multifamily advisor focusing his efforts in the Orange County institutional market, partnering with Alexander Garcia, Jr. and Christopher Zorbas, both IPA senior directors, and David Sperling, IPA director, covering the Inland Empire and San Diego. Previously, he was a managing director at a competing commercial real estate investment services brokerage. Martin brings nearly 10 years of investment property sales experience and has exclusively focused on the Southern California marketplace.

“We are pleased to welcome Tyler to IPA,” says Pontius. “He has been involved in transactions totaling over $700 million in multifamily sales, working on behalf of notable institutions like BlackRock, AIMCO, BRE Properties, Bank of America, and JP Morgan. Tyler’s track record of success will only be enhanced as he starts to leverage the distinctive and proprietary characteristics of our platform.”

“We look forward to having Tyler on our team,” says Garcia. “His presence will be an integral part of our efforts in the institutional segment in Orange County.”

“Tyler has built strong relationships within the multifamily industry,” adds Zorbas. “He’ll continue to leverage his experience with over 5000 units in multifamily sales and will help to expand IPA’s footprint. I look forward to working with him.”

Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the Pacific.
