CALABASAS, Calif., May 1, 2017 – Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap specializing in serving institutional and major private real estate investors, has named Kenneth J. Szady, SIOR, CCIM a national director. Szady will lead IPA’s office and industrial sectors nationally, according to Alan Pontius, senior vice president and national director of Marcus & Millichap’s specialty divisions.
A veteran investment broker and real estate executive with more than 25 years of experience, Szady will represent and coordinate the firm’s institutional, corporate and major private clients on office and industrial transactions regionally and nationwide.
“We have been extremely selective in filling this role and are pleased to have someone of Ken’s background and reputation,” said Pontius. “In stepping into the role of national director, IPA Office and Industrial, he will further enhance our firm’s ability to connect private capital and the institutional market place, while serving the unique needs of each of these investor groups.”
Szady will be based out of IPA’s Chicago office. “In addition to elevating the level of service provided to clients, Ken will further establish Marcus & Millichap as a destination for top talent,” said Richard Matricaria, first vice president and Midwest division manager at Marcus & Millichap. “By strategically pairing industry veterans like Ken with next-generation leaders, we are able to leverage the unique skill sets of each, creating a collaborative service platform unlike any other in commercial real estate.”
Throughout his career, Szady has led and transacted over $9 billion of office, industrial and investment transactions nationwide. Prior to being appointed national director of Marcus & Millichap’s Institutional Property Advisors, he was executive managing director of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's Capital Markets division representing institutional, corporate and major private clients in property and note sales, joint venture equity structures, debt placement and corporate sale/leaseback transactions. Szady has also held senior leadership positions with Cushman & Wakefield, Trammell Crow Company and Jones Lang LaSalle, earning recognition as a top producer both locally and nationally.
“By leveraging Marcus & Millichap’s and Institutional Property Advisor’s proprietary technology “MNET”, leading market research, an established 2,000 investment broker trading platform with the mandate of full national collaboration it was an easy decision for me to make, said Szady. “The unique characteristics of the platform allow me to further grow my business regionally as well as expand nationally to maximize value on behalf of clients. I look forward to building on that momentum as we capitalize on continued growth of the office and industrial sectors nationwide.”
