Institutional Property Advisors Expands into Salt Lake City with Accomplished Brokerage Team

March 05, 2020
Shin and Zylstra

SALT LAKE CITY, March 5, 2020 – Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap (NYSE: MMI), announced today that multifamily investment advisors Daniel Shin and Brock Zylstra have joined IPA in Salt Lake City, Utah.

“Daniel and Brock are highly accomplished agents in our Salt Lake City office who have represented large private and institutional clients in partnership with our leading IPA teams in Northern California and Phoenix,” said Jeffery Daniels, senior vice president and national director, IPA Multifamily. “As members of IPA, this established team will have access to IPA’s data-driven, collaborative network and will leverage their combined 20-year history in Salt Lake City to advise and execute commercial real estate investments on behalf of multifamily investors and developers.” Zylstra and Shin have sold approximately 14,000 multifamily units together in Utah and Idaho. Both are graduates of Brigham Young University.

“Adding Daniel and Brock to our network is a continuation of our firm’s strategic expansion of IPA across North America,” Daniels continued. “Already this year, in addition to Salt Lake City, our team of advisors has expanded in Central Florida and last year we increased our footprint in Canada by adding an experienced team of Edmonton-based multifamily investment advisors. In December 2018 we bolstered IPA’s presence in the Pacific Northwest with addition of a veteran multifamily team in Seattle.”

“We are excited that Daniel and Brock will be a part of  IPA as they have successfully collaborated with the platform in the past to deliver unrivaled service and results on behalf of clients in Utah and Idaho,” added Phil Brierley, regional manager for Marcus & Millichap in Utah and Idaho. “Their new affiliation will help ensure that our Salt Lake City office will continue to exceed client expectations as multifamily investors’ interest in Salt Lake City grows.”

“This is an exciting opportunity for us, and we very much look forward to deepening our existing relationships with IPA advisors and forging new associations that will further benefit our clients,” commented Shin. “The move is the natural next step in the evolution of services we can offer to our large private and institutional clients,” noted Zylstra.
