Space Demand Uneven Across Canada as Trade Negotiations Drag On

Manufacturing sales rose as auto production resumed. Following a sharp decline in January’s auto sales, a 43 per cent month‑over‑month surge in motor vehicle manufacturing — driven by the resumption of production in Ontario — led to a 3.6 per cent increase in manufacturing sales in February. Beyond the volatility in the transportation sector, primary metal manufacturing reached an all‑time high, posting a 4.9 per cent increase ahead of the United States’ plan to roll back tariffs on steel- and aluminum‑derived products in April.
